SULFUR MINES

Join us on an unforgettable adventure to the Sulfur Mines of the Sierra Negra Volcano in Isabela. We will collect you from your hotel and start a journey through the highlands, following in the footsteps of miners from the past. When you reach the edge of Sierra Negra, we will delight you with an impressive panoramic view that spans from the southern tip to the northern tip of Isabela.​

The most visually active part of Sierra Negra: Short route

Prepare for a two-hour guided hike to the heart of the Sierra Negra Volcano, where the landscape transforms from lush vegetation to rugged lava rocks and then to deposits of whitish calcium and yellowish sulfur. Equipped with a breathing mask for safety, you can witness the intense volcanic activity up-close and learn how a reddish liquid turns into a yellow smokey stone. Discover the history of the island before tourism became its main source of income and enjoy a delicious lunch in this extraordinary setting.

After this beautiful adventure, we will bring you home safely. We recommend using the rest of the day to relax. For instance, you could visit Concha de Perla to take a dip in the refreshing water and snorkel with sea turtles.
